How To Use Your Name To Make Your Cold Emails More Effective

🎵 Say My Name, Say My Name🎵

Destiny's Child was WRONG.

You don't need to introduce yourself or your company in a cold email.

Wait, what?

When attention and inbox real estate are already so precious, you're wasting both when you write a sentence saying "My name is Raj and I work at Startup Hypeman."

  • Your name is already part of your email address

  • It might even show up in the "To" field depending on your settings

  • You're also going to close the email by writing your name

  • AND it's repeated again in your email signature along with hyperlinks to your company website.

Here's what I do instead...

  • Introduce my hyperlinked company name in the context of how we help: "Startup Hypeman[hyperlinked] helps growing companies scale towards their next $5, $10, $20 million, etc goal (without making product changes)."

OR

  • Say "we/I" in my value prop, and say my company name when signing off: "We help growing companies scale towards their next $5, $10, $20 million, etc goal (without making product changes). Sounds like this might be good timing. Are you interested? Raj from Startup Hypeman"

Are you wasting time, space, and attention saying your own name?

Stay Hyped,
